The Massachusetts 40-hour Broker pre-licensing curriculum reflects the essential topics found in the salesperson syllabus but places a greater emphasis on brokerage operations, financial management, independent liability, and supervisory responsibilities critical for obtaining a Massachusetts real estate license.

Massachusetts broker candidates must complete an additional 40 hours of approved broker education and satisfy the Board's work-experience requirements before licensure.
Massachusetts requires broker candidates to first become licensed salespersons.
Candidates generally must also have worked under a broker for at least three years, at least 25 hours per week, with qualifying experience current or completed within the period specified by the Board.
